I Am Not Your Last Refuge

                                                               Empty words of silence

From an empty soul in peace

That’s all that left to greet you

When you come back for my love

You took me for granted, always

Came to me, when you needed me

You grinned past me many a time

When you found someone lustier

I saw the days of loneliness

When you were fooling around

And having fun, with no loose ends

Back then, you didn’t remember me

Now, why are you turning around?

Looking to reach out for my hand

When my heart has gone frozen

Without your smile for a long time

 You got me wrong,

 Every time I trusted you

You left me crying,

 Every time without mercy

I am not your last refuge

Where you could come and leave

Whenever you feel like

Cos, I don’t love you anymore

I wrote this poem in 2010. It was another failed attempt to write a song. I don't remember the context. Images were taken from Amy Tran in Unsplash and  Foundry in Pixabay.

The Last Sunset

A bed set on a lonely beach

Shallow shore lets in slower tides

To fill water beneath the bed

It is awaiting its next guest

To pass over the message

Left behind by the last tenant

Wish you a happy journey!

He is set to come in the evening

For enjoying one last sunset

To drench his feet with waves

Sitting on the bed facing the sea

 As he could barely stand

He would rather walk on the sands

But he is too weak even with support

He is not old, he is just ill

He has visited this beach many times

With his sweetheart in his prime days

He wishes to see those memories again

As his sweetheart has left him for good

She won’t know about the wish he shares

With the waves for one last time, a secret

He could lay down and enjoy conversations

With the stars, that were liked by her dearly

He will be bidding adieu to the moon

He used to see her on the moon when lonely

A big thank you smile for the moon

For bestowing company in his empty nights

Before leaving this world, while sleeping

From the heartbreak, miseries, and illnesses

Through euthanasia, a merciful exit from the world

At his favourite beach, where he weaved all his dreams!

This poem is inspired by the picture given by #OnePicPoetry. This poem is dedicated to those who wish to leave this world without pain legally. I certainly wish that for myself.

One More Yesterday

I wish one more yesterday
If I could, with you
To walk along the Marina beach
Where I wished to propose you
Holding your hands like lovers
Without any undisturbed winds
To hear your husky voice calling me
darling and sharing your thoughts
I wish to see your colourful smile
For one more time to seal it in my heart
And walk away towards the grim sunset
Without saying goodbyes and any tears
I want to purge the memories with you
In the poems, I wrote for you years ago
I know that you have read each of them
I'll light a lamp with ounces of  whiskey
Like a dark love burning bright at its end

A Lost Infant

 A lost infant

A lost bundle of dreams

Weaved during ten months

Inside the mother's womb

About a lifetime of raising a child

From the first scan of the movement

To the first  kick on the belly

Listening to the sweet little things

With an ear on the belly

The selection of a sweet name

The shopping for welcoming baby

The decoration of the room and cradle

A long wait for seeing the face

A long wait for seeing the smile

A long wait to hear the first words

A long wait to see the first walk

A long wait to play with the god's gift

It's a short-lived joy

As the child left this world

Too early

It's a pain hard to heal

The tears of the bereaved  mother

The broken heart of a silent father

 Consoling each other in silence

Words can't console their loss

As the image of their breathless infant

Haunt them as nightmares in

Sleepless nights and hopeless days

With all their hopes for a lifetime

Buried inside a small casket

In the graveyard of sorrows

With wishes for a cradle in heaven

This poem is written in solidarity with my friends who lost their children too early. Some inside the womb itself.

Key To Her Heart

It wasn't the right key,

No, the lock has been changed:

I am no more welcome!

Her heart has a new owner,

who waited like a wily fox,

to pounce upon our turmoil.

The key I had was handed over,

from another man,

who had a different ideology;

that she couldn't afford to carry,

for an entire life.

She gave me the key with a caveat:

that  she is a bird,

I shall hold her in my hand,

but not catch her like in a cage.

I had told her:

I would love to see her fly high,

chasing her dreams,

I will catch her if she falls.

I realised that she is indeed a bird:

who keep flying and meeting new birds,

spending time and banter at will,

keeping her options open, if she's impressed.

She's less bothered about the partner;

She only cares about her happiness.

She can't bear any critique:

she need only praises,

and someone who supports her,

even the wrong moves.

I have breached that caveat:

She didn't wait for long for another adventure!

Lost Love

A journey from chaos to silence was agonizingly slow
A journey from oblivion to smile was surprisingly brisk
The distance between the silence and smile is daunting
Time flies with vanishing memories and withered bond

Strangers

Someday, we will meet,
When we couldn't afford to,
Somewhere midst chaos.
We never met,

When we could have,
We had plenty of time
To explore sands and hills
Together, in search of freedom
Destiny or fate, We didn't
Our dreams withered away
In the drought of our silence,
While we weaved them in winter,
With a hope to splash in monsoon
Now the spring bloom hollow smiles
Mocking at your portrait of memoir
You will walk past me, like a stranger
With a silence that ill fits a radio
With a smile, hidden somewhere
Saying hello to an old buddy
That's all left in between us

Goodbye

I am moving to a new shore
I have left a piece of my heart
At your door
Without knocking, like a trespasser
I hope you will open the door
I wonder if you will see it
It holds a piece of my dreams
Which I wished to share with you
It still carries the urn of my feelings
That I never expressed
I wished to conquer your heart
Silently, with a feather touch of emotions
Now, you are beyond my reach
As you have found your destiny
I wish to hold your smile
In my eyes forever as a precious gift
I still hear your voice, when I am alone
Through the realms of my ears
I don’t wish to see tears or fury
In your eyes
As I love it to remain vibrant
So, I won’t leave any words
That might hurt your beliefs
Though I wish to let you know
I’ve fallen for you
Right when I saw your eyes greeting me

Miles To Go To Say Goodbye

Miles To Go To Say Goodbye

Life moves on, as ever
The faces of people change
Whom I meet, talk to, befriend
Hundreds came and went
Leaving good memories forever
Without a trace to see again
But it's part of life
A few remains for long
Sharing good and bad times
But there are times;
When there is no life left,
In the beautiful friendship
Even though how good it has been!
Words and deeds can turn it,
into nothing more than trash.
Even though the heart doesn’t want,
To end the relationship.
Issues are too hot to handle
Efforts to revive it go in vain.
Hopes of getting back the warmth,
Fades just like an evening sun.
There comes the thought of
Saying good-bye.
But a goodbye can’t take away
The feelings inside the heart!
It will remain there forever.
So maybe an unrelenting wait,
Or an unfettering effort to forget,
Whichever may be the path
walk through it slowly
As even if a full-stop is drawn
It doesn't mark the end of memories
So there are miles to go
To say goodbye!

I wrote this poem some years back. It's not a goodbye. It's rather miles away from saying goodbye.

Love to friendship

Hardest thing in this world is
To be the friend of your love
When you know he is
 Someone else's life

It’s hard to control emotions
As Old Memories and dreams
Flocks the heart, giving
A sense of great loss

Every time when you see him
Heart craves for getting closer
Like the olden days
With nostalgic eyes

He conquered your untamed heart
Made you his beautiful princess
Filled dreams in you
About life together

Still you are there in his heart
He wanna care you like before
 But from a distance
As a loving friend

This poem is written for a friend, some what in tandem with her tune.

Isla Amor

Isla Amor
A small island of curse
In the Brazilian seaway
Surrounded by white beach
Lush green with bushes and coconut trees
Bought for romantic honeymoon
Turned out to be the last straw
In a relation
Now one of the cheapest islands
Something painful for owner
Trying to forget at the best
About a lost wedding diamond ring
A ruined honeymoon
Mysterious downfall of a doggie
A failed attempt to cheer
The Heartbroken wife
Horrible hours of dehydrations
A long wait for help from mainland
Bed ridden days in clinic
And a tragic divorce aftermath
May be it’s a lucky land
That measured the depth of love
That didn’t existed as he expected
He showered his wealth to make her happy
But she couldn’t bear a tough day
Neither his riches was able stop her from leaving
Nor his painful tears of love
Isla Amor, teaches the lesson
True love stands by at all tough times
Glittering feelings vanishes in moments forever
He may call it as Isla Cadella
Instead of Isla Amor
But it’s his lucky charm that freed him
Towards a world of true love,
That he will discover one day
