Water Highway to moon

Every where there is concern
Climate is becoming weird day by day
Countries are blaming each other
For the green house gas emissions
No one ready to accept their faults
Nor ready to come up with solutions
Everyone on street know the solution
But governments endorse economic growth
Over emission cuts that could bring down
The monster of global warming
Kyoto and Copenhagen
More summits will follow with same results
With negotiators stage-managing the drama
One day they will have to act
When they finally see their cities submersing
Now they fend off the Greenpeace activists
With the iron fist of law
But, one day there won’t be a place to hide
When thunderstorms, floods, droughts, tsunamis
Earthquakes come with vengeance
With the silent permission of Mother Nature
To reclaim her pride, marred by greed of humans
We are experts in dumping all the wastes
Wherever possible on earth and space
It’s the time for us to think,
how to flush out the excess water from the oceans?
Before we are forced out from our homeland
To some hostile planets where we have to fight
Every moment with forces there to survive
Where we can’t walk nor breathe freely
Let’s build a water highway to the moon
Piercing channels through the space
Pumping out water molecules with escape velocity
And then pulling them towards the craters of moon
With the gravity
Then filling them with the virgin water from earth
We can use this water to feed ourselves
As we want to have colonies there
To launch our quest to conquer this universe
To find the aliens and other living organisms
We can recreate oceans at the barren lands in moon
We can even create artificial atmosphere
With water vapors and other gases
As we are experts
In emitting millions of cubic meters of dangerous gases
We can take space tourists to show them
The spectacular water high way for huge sums of money
May be someday people can undertake adventurous trips
On some space vehicles through that water highway
As long as we can keep the water level down in earth
Any amount spent on that highway is worth a punt
We can have tourists’ resorts in moon
Along the banks of this highway
With yatches lining up for luxury rides
On the water we find as junk on earth
We recreated every monument possible
May be we can recreate Venice on moon
As for humans, “nothing is impossible.”

This poem is inspired by the continuing protest by green-peace activists against the governments for not trying significantly to reduce the emissions.Global warming is affecting our very existence in this planet.

Wings

Give the wings to a butterfly, which lost its wings
You will see it slowly trying to rise up and down
Trying to learn to fly again to see the world once again
As it has got in its mind, the images about a garden
Where there are beautiful flowers with exotic aroma
The wish to taste that sweet honey once again
The wish to fly with bunch of other butterflies
The wish to pollinate the countless romantic flowers
The wish to contribute its part in this world
These wishes are powerful to push it higher towards sky
Then will free its new wings to breeze through the wind
Waving back a grateful smile for letting it fly again
That smile is priceless and that joy is unforgettable
Give wings to dreams of someone and let them fly
You will get that beautiful smile full of love

Return of a magic

A frozen mind is scrambling for ideas
My excited heart is scrambling for assurance
I am caught up between fantasy and reality
Wondering, am I dreaming or sleeping?
All of a sudden
It seems twenty-four hours is too short even for dreaming
I wish for fifty hours in a day
Maybe I should look for a new planet to settle down
I don’t want to close my eyes even for a second
On this beautiful earth
As I am always running behind the deadlines
I wonder if it’s a curious case of phobia
With mentors expecting new excuses from me every day
As I tell them, I will do it tomorrow
Now they believe, my tomorrow will never come
But I am looking for a today
A day in which I will become a perfect man
Maybe crows will stop flying that day!
Thunders will refuse to bang on earth!
And my friends will be flying in the air without wings!
I am not lazy, but I am traveling through a world of thoughts
Sometimes I forget that I live on earth more than on mars!
As I look for words to write down
I wonder why I love them so much
Virtually confused due to a bizarre mixture of emotions
Don’t know if its happiness or sadness or a sense of relief
I became speechless for a while
Just wished to cry, smile, and thank you at once
Once again I've started believing in miracles
As magic has swept over my heart
I owe it to the almighty

Winter Rain

It’s raining hard
With lightning and thunders
For long hours
As more grey clouds are coming in
It’s not the monsoon
Nor the summer shower
Can’t believe
It’s a winter rain !

It was hot during the daytime
right from the mornings
And even at nights, there was no cool air
I hoped for misty mornings
As I started my new walking routine
I love the scene of trees and flowers
bathed by the naughty mist at night
when i go out in the morning
This time around,rains bathed them
without giving time to dry themselves

I love the sight of sun rays
melting and vaporising the mist
from the leaves and all around
As time nears the noon
if you look at the sky
You can see vapor rising up the sky like smoke
I'vent seen it yet this year

Fogs are thing of the past
I remember those  days
when fog conquered miles and miles
even the hills disappeared under its carpet
i miss that dark thick blanket of fog
that comes every year

Everyone is relying on ceiling fans and air coolers
To keep away the heat
But as the barometer kept rising
Drops of heavenly rain started showering down
As I laid down resting after football game
At my old haunting ground
It’s been raining ever since
And it seems, there is to more to come
I wonder why we have to get the cooler air
Albeit the surprise rain
Northern parts of are
Swamped under the freezing cold
Even the neighboring states are feeling the cold
I wonder what happened to this hilly seaside state
We never get snow here
But this is the only time we get some fog and chilly air
How did it elude us?
Rather, we are carrying umbrellas
Elsewhere,kids couldnt play outside
due to snow or chilly weather
Here,it's the rain keeping them inside

Is this a sign for future?
Is global warming a myth or reality
Monsoon is faltering
And now we are getting a new kind of rain
At the cost of a winter!
As I listen to the news about the deep freeze in UK
And the erratic snow patterns around the world
As certain places got more snow than they do
Catching them in awkward
And keeping them indoors
Relying on the heating systems
I wonder if we will get to face
Even the slighter winter we get normally
I wish to see the back of winter rain
Rather I wish to see it during summer

A Banyan Tree and Little Sparrows

A huge big banyan tree
Stood tall aside from that main road
As a symbol of heritage for the locality
A blessed shelter for homeless
And tired Samaritans
A favourite leisure place for local gamers
It s also the home for a young sparrow family
That waited to see their kid birds
Breaking out from those eggs
Their first screams gave the joy to parent birds
As they started their life together
They had hopes about a prosperous future
As their home is in the middle of a town
They had to fly a bit far to find food
The kids are not yet ready to fly
As their wings are just starting to evolve
Along with feathers
Parents used to fly away with the belief
That their home is safe from all enemies
They used to bring back food for their hungry kids
On that day
They left their nest as usual to find food
After saying goodbyes to their chirpy kids
They never thought they had unknown enemies
Who was planning to bring down their home
As the day progressed
Some men climbed that tree
And started Cutting down every single branch
The little birds got scared
As their nest started shaking
They started screaming
Calling their parents to come back
They didn’t know what to do
They can’t fly
They just hoped that  their parents would come soon
But they ran out of luck
As their nest fell down along with a branch
Over the pile of branches and leaves
Though their nest survived the fall somehow
They felt the pain
They kept screaming
But nobody cared to look
As more leaves fell over them
They were buried under a pile of leaves
Barely can they breathe
Holding on to their hopes
It’s a heartbreaking sight
That welcomed the parent sparrows
Their nest is nowhere to see
And that big tree is standing no more
It is lying on the ground
As hundreds of pieces
More of bare skeletons now
Shocked at the sight
They started searching for their beloved kids
Flying all around screaming out loud
The kids could hear their voice
But by then their faint voice got even fainter
And hardly it rose up through the pile of leaves
They are so close to their parents
But out of sight unluckily
As the sun started setting
Someone found the little sparrows
While clearing those leaves and branches
He took that nest and kept it on safer ground
Hoping that parent birds might come and find them
Even as those parent birds kept searching desperately
For their beloved little kids
Curious onlookers took snaps of beleaguered little birds
This is the cost of the inhumane rush for development
