Rain - A curse

Rain evokes fond memories of a hilly village
Magically transforming the idle soil green
Springs drooling towards the river downhill
Barren canal uphill raising pool of tadpoles
Paddy fields brimming again before harvest
Transformation of a lean river into a monster
That overpowers the old stone bridge ferociously
But it never took any life nor displaced people

Now, rain evokes haunting memories of a forgettable past
Echo of the rain droplets brought life back to scars in the heart
Bringing back the shades of beloved voices that opted silence
Along with the dreams and romances that they left behind
The untold truths are hiding in some distant hearts for long
Leaves the mind emotionally drained and craving for closure
Making the lonely nights unbearable with endless thoughts
Depraving the mind peace and sleep, an unforgiving torture

Darkness

There is light in the darkness
There is silence in the darkness
There is joy in the darkness
There is naughtiness in the darkness
There is emptiness in the darkness
There is soul in the darkness
There is love in the dark
There is pain in the dark
There is weakness in the darkness
There is inspiration in the darkness

Some Moments

Some moments bring happiness
Some moments impose pain
Some moments are cherished
Some moments are beginnings
Some moments are endings
Some moments are disappointing
Some moments define life
Some moments change life
Some moments captures love
Some moments captures heartbreak
Some moments captures death
Some moments are hard to forget
Some moments are painful to remember
But those moments are here to say
Deep inside the heart forever

Give back

Give back my right
Give back my land
Give back my pride
Give back my soul
Give back my values
I wish to live with freedom
I wish to live with peace
I wish to live with equality
Even for one day here
I live in this soulless state
Where passion is seen during cricket
Or during a war
Where everyone is corrupted in mind
I live in this lawless state
Where anyone can kill at will!

Highway

A deserted Highway
Abandoned cars and trucks
Badly burnt
At middle of nowhere
No trace of survivors
No trace of hooligans
A story unfolded
In fields nearby
Scattered feminine attires
 And inner wears
Villagers nearby
Revealed the horror
The loot and the battering
Abductions and rapes
Desperate run to save lives
Refuge and silence
Longest wait for the dawn
Of freedom
In the jail of night
As lust and greed
Hid behind the thuggery
To chase down innocence
And erase the evidence
Journeys of joy
Turned out as nightmares
Home remained so far away
Scars of night accompanied
The escape journey
Justice remained beyond reach
As defenders of law remained

Inaccessible

Lost Love

A journey from chaos to silence was agonizingly slow
A journey from oblivion to smile was surprisingly brisk
The distance between the silence and smile is daunting
Time flies with vanishing memories and withered bond

Anti-National

I am an Anti-National
I don’t pretend my country or cow as my mother
I prefer to give that respect to my mother alone

I am an Anti-National
I don’t worship a saffron terrorist Godse as Patriot
I admire Gandhi and millions of freedom fighters

I am an Anti-National
I don’t visit RSS shakha to learn about AkhandaBharat
I am fascinated about the formation of Indian Union

I am an Anti-National
I don’t eulogize Sanskrit or Hindi to become a nationalist
I love my mother tongue and stand for all Indian languages

I am an Anti-National
I don’t feel threatened by minorities and other ideologists
I rather bother about hatred spewing rioters and criminals

I am an Anti-National
I don’t use tri-color to force Indians to prove their patriotism
I can’t imagine a saffron flag representing India in my lifetime

I am an Anti-National
I don’t endorse emergency under Indira Gandhi decades go
I believe in Indian constitution and democracy, nothing else

I am an Anti-National
I don’t think, our government should benefit only corporates
I wish for social welfare support and opportunities to all Indians

I am an Anti-National
I don’t think, any innocent Indian should be jailed for sedition
I wish that our government could nab some deadly criminals

I am an Anti-National
I don’t think, I have to prove my patriotism to rioters and haters
I wish they could stop killing fellow Indians and help Indian farmers

I am an Anti-National
I don’t plan to go to Pakistan, just to make newbie patriots happy
I was born here, I will live here and I want to die here, when I am old

I am an Anti-National
I don’t want to identify myself as anything but a normal Indian
I prefer being an Anti-national than a saffron blinded nationalist

Reliving - Into the Wild

Sometimes it feels,
The woods are warmer ,
Than the coldblooded society,
a small hobbit and a fireplace,
a small garden aside a stream,
somewhere far in a lonely valley,
with some sheeps for company,
life will be whole lot simpler ,
with nothing to prove,
nothing to gain,
nothing to lose,
no bonds, no chains
no hope, no expectations
no deadlines,no appeasement
just an idyllic journey amidst nature

Asylum

Asylum
A bordered world
Patrolled by armed men
Radars, fighter planes, and ships
Seeking the blood of perceived enemies
Yet some of them breach the borders to bomb
Imaginary or futuristic threats away from the shores
Taking innocent lives for no fault of theirs, but for greed
Dismantling the lives of millions in their own homelands
By making them refugees at the mercy of neighbors
Brave hearts risk their lives and march with a hope
Through tough terrains battling adverse weathers
Militants, Traffickers, rogue patrols and open sea
Holding breath against death at times of trouble
To reach a faraway safe land to start lives again
Seeking asylum away from shattered homeland
To live, work, and save every penny they can
To build a nest of safe future for themselves
And for uplifting lives of the loved ones left behind
With a wish for reunion someday in the new shore

Strangers

Someday, we will meet,
When we couldn't afford to,
Somewhere midst chaos.
We never met,

When we could have,
We had plenty of time
To explore sands and hills
Together, in search of freedom
Destiny or fate, We didn't
Our dreams withered away
In the drought of our silence,
While we weaved them in winter,
With a hope to splash in monsoon
Now the spring bloom hollow smiles
Mocking at your portrait of memoir
You will walk past me, like a stranger
With a silence that ill fits a radio
With a smile, hidden somewhere
Saying hello to an old buddy
That's all left in between us

Lost Portrait

She sat on the white sands
Of a lonely, get away beach
Keeping her chin rest upon
On folded legs, she gazed
At the symphony of waves
She shared her thoughts,
With the meditating waves
She received vibe of peace
 To calm her exuberance
About a secret romance
Naughty breeze dillydallied
With her short beach drape
While the shallow lagoon
In her backdrop, sought
Impressions of her beauty
Voyeuristic sun smiled at her
While portraying her curves
Precisely on the sand canvas
She surrendered herself to sun
For a golden tan, for a surprise
She waited for the splashy sunset
To welcome the charming moon
To lit her evening with her man

Drowning Bridge

It stood tall for years
Slicing down the distance
Meeting the ends of two hearts
With its panels across the destiny
Sending the messengers to exchange
The news and goodwill
It grew in stature as the symbol of bonding
It saw the fondness blooming like spring
It saw the summers and winters of friendship
It saw the cajoling romance and bitterness of fights
It hoped to remain as the rope between them forever
But, one moment of madness or craziness of fate
It sank slowly, without catching fire, without screams
Silence mourned its slow drowning on one side
Noisy memories kept yelling at it to hold on other side
The remnants of that bridge remain floating
Hoping for a miraculous renaissance

Welsh Traitors

They roam right after the winter
Grazing the overgrown lawns
Of welsh valleys

Unfazed by the onlookers gazing
They are the darlings of misty Wales
They outnumber the welsh speakers

But, once we cross the Severn bridge
And if we find one of them
Grazing the English grass

My pony tailed welsh friend would yell
You traitor, what are you doing in England?
You are welsh, you go back to homeland

It’s just sheeps, and all they care is grass
But they are welsh traitors in England

A summer day at Newport

The 3 am early sunrise
River birds act as alarm clock
Day grows longer living its dream
Summer sunshine a treasure in a cold land
Glitters the souls that seek the fun of holidays

Hangouts with friends at the Newport city centre
Watching the buzz of crowd like curious kids
Listening to the street musicians soul tunes

The squirrels of the Belle Vue Park
Wander around the trees and greens
With no fear to the visitors
To find the it’s favorite nuts
Their acts reminds puppet shows
Amusing the kids who play around
Try to catch them out of curiosity
The grand oldies warm up with bowling
On the greens up the hill

Life froze when I sat on the bench
And gazed at the floral arrangement at the square
As the dawn refused to grace the lives
My wait for the stars and the night beauty of river usk
Led me to the walkway along the river
An old man taught me to pluck the chestnuts
From the chestnut tree near the sitting area
When I sit in company of the river
Dreams flew like the breeze from the river
And I walk back to the harrow road

When the lights on the footbridge spruce to life

Rivalry

“Life is too short,
It’s easy to hide in the cellars of revenge,
Raring to bruise with armors to spit fire
And spill the soil with blood of the fallen
it’s easy to avoid the flags raised for peace,
Today, you have the right, as you are hurt
Tomorrow, who knows,
The very thought of agony may be worthless,
When the very enemy you fight within
Stop existing in this world
That will be your time, your success
Victorious moments for your pride
You enjoy it, until you lose the adrenaline
Your enemy may go bust towards eternity,
Miles away from your vision,
Miles away from your silence and roars
 Forever,
And you may never get to see again,
Then the rivalry, the agony, the feeling of revenge,
 It will all become vogue,
Like a pile of damaged currency notes,
with no value to serve anyone
With the conquered patches of parched territories
laying bare to tell the tales of sorrow
You can rest for a while
Until another ruthless mercenary rise
To challenge you to the brink "

Silence

Song sung by a chorus of benumb heartS
Intended for the drivers in a savage safarI
Lost in an alley of false pride and hardselL
Expressed to be heard aloud amidst noisE
Nips of misery, blazing tall with convictioN
Challenges the rival to address the arseniC
Emerged from bruises of emotional carnagE

Promised land

We live in a world with manipulated justice
Ruled by dictators, with brute force
Groomed by greedy power mongers to vote
With manifestos written in golden lies
We know what we will get in return
Corruption, exploitation, and stagnation
Yet, we remain silent robots, with all anger
But,in a spring of change, some daredevils uprooted
The corroded corridors of power with a wish for freedom

We have a modern, but muted League of Nations
That remains blind when bombs dismantle civilizations
And dumb, when people cry loud for help and justice
Defenders of democracy, created new colonies
After massacring innocent societies to gift freedom
They installed puppet authorities to auction the resources
To the ever greedy behemoth corporations of Wild West
They sell arms to neighbors, and foes within
They reap profits while their bullets and shells splash blood

Millions ran for their lives, to find a promised land for refuge
To lead a peaceful life, with assurance of waking up alive
But they are the unwanted burden for the economies of benefits
People risks drowning in depths of chilly seas
Evades the scorching heat of the deserts
Thorn filled paths of unknown terrains
To engage in a proxy battle with eagles waiting to nab
To prevent the souls from entering promised land
This is the fate of refugees, asylum seekers, or illegal migrants
Lucky if they make it to the safe shore
Phasing through the camps of  asylum
If not, await deportation back to the world of despair

If there is peace, no one will leave the paradise
When you can’t give them the peace and safety
While creating dilapidated hells for them afar
Exploiting their resources in front of their eyes
Without giving prosperity or hope
People will keep flocking the borders
I wonder, how these modern nero’s play fiddle
With utmost peace
While the war games they played
Comes back to haunt them in flocks
Stretching the limits of their own economies

Project Management

Project
A lifeline of a company to earn big bucks
Mining through the risks and unknown challenges

Team
A cluster of strangers and foes
Competing and striving to excel at same time

Managers
A robotic army powered by bosses
To yell at teams to meet deadlines at any cost

Allocation
A utopian distribution system
For assigning resources  for different tasks

Review
A must have checkups to track and cure
The progress all along the network path of projects

 Deadline
It’s always a daunting task
When you try to make up for the lost time

Regrets
No face value for it
Once you wasted your chance

Stress
A Painful thrill to live through,
Amidst busy fixing one hitch up after another

Time
A luxury to even dream
As every second has its price, with no returns

Sleep
A mirage that keeps moving away
While digging up turmoils under compulsion  to finish tasks

Plan
A beautiful map to decorate the wall
When all tasks explode beyond all the controls

Strategy
Dangerous  ploys to play, on every phase
To fix or steady the plans against all the odds

 Hope
A rope to wish for from nowhere
When every road seems to meet a dead end

Motivation
A sour grape that can energize minds
Urging them to conquer the unthinkable heights

Belief
An empty wallet in pocket
With magical powers to create miracles

Help
A welcome gift from anyone
Anytime to sail the ship towards a safe shore

End
A podium to climb
To pour the champagne to celebrate the relief

A poem dedicated to all sleepless , stressed individuals around the world, working hard and trying to meet the deadlines of projects!
