Llama

A guy in Dubai drank
Too much liquid of midnight
Celebrating his success in the desert
He wanted to raise a camel as his pet
He  searched for it in online pet stores
He liked the smile of one and bought it
He forgot about it until he got a call
From a delivery company, to receive
The animal he bought from Bolivia
He had no memory, that too from
Bolivia, He checked his internet history,
To find the day he shopped online,
He saw the confirmatory email for
the shopping, He was amused when
he saw the llama, Not a camel, it had a
head like a goat, It was a small animal
full of fur, it had an infectious smile,
He found out that it was from the Andes
mountains, He still liked its smile, But
he wondered how to raise it in the desert!
He set up a cooler enclave on his farm,
And he placed an order for a couple more,
For giving company to his llama!

Lonely duck

Afternoon blues tore up the rain clouds
To showcase the sky with its glowing arms
Sunshine put brakes on the erratic rain
Water logged roads remained lazy
To dry up in rhythm with the sun
Potholes in dilapidated roads
Shined as if its jewels
And it resembled ponds
A duck aloof from its herd
Amidst a deserted city street
Found the luxury to have a bath
Peacefully in one of the potholes
Swaying its wings, taking time at will
Without being bothered about anything
The pedestrians or odd vehicles passing by
It enjoyed the bath relying on natural instincts
Though, it had never seen its real habitat once
The fields and lakes where its predecessors
Swam the life at the pace of virgin nature
Born in hatcheries, it was walked through
The miles by the vendors from camps to camps
Without seeing any water stream all along the way
For it, roads are equivalent to the idyllic waterways
Forced to run around a plot filled with coconut trees
Lonely duck made friendships with the people and dogs
Strangers and vehicles don’t scare it anymore
As the parking lot brings countless of them everyday
It has buckets of water to gulp down its thirst
Occasional rains quench its innate urge to drench
Though, swimming is impossible in its new home
There are no fishes and worms to hunt down
It’s Fed with the grains and human food
It is caged in the wave of space crunch
In the allay of city life It never wished
As it couldn’t fly away back to the nature

Delightful Nap

Afternoon blues was in the air
A relief of sunshine
After so many rainy days
I was travelling with my friend
On his bike
As we reached a traffic point
While waiting for the green signal
I turned aside and watched
An abandoned nameless memorial
With rectangular base
And reducing height towards top
It was built on spacious median
That was amidst a series of roads
In different directions
The outer brick basement was dilapidated
The grass on its premises were over grown
But the monument was in good condition
Standing tall with a question mark
Do you know why I am standing here?
I wonder if civic authorities have an answer
But it’s a nice little asylum for a dog couple
They were lying on parallel sides
They were in deep slumber
The noises of the vehicles didn’t deter them
Not even the scorching heat of sunny day
Deterred them from a well deserved rest
After their tough efforts to feed themselves
In a busy part of the city
I guess, they had their food somehow
It’s not an easy life for stray dogs in a city
They face the dangers of speeding vehicles
They face the wrath of angry Samaritans
They face the ire of shop owners or securities
But there might be someone helping them
With kindness
Still, it’s a daunting task to survive
Feeding on the dumped waste foods
But looking at their faces
I found the peace and happiness they share
They don’t have puppies
Totally isolated from group of dogs
That I found some kilometers back
They are made for each other
Facing life together with one heart
I felt jealous at those dogs
As we keep running during whole of the day
To get many things done and to earn
But we don’t have the time
To enjoy a delightful nap in the afternoon
We don’t have any peace
To rest with satisfaction
As we can’t rest in laurels
More targets to achieve less time to spend
We have to keep running
I wished that all of us could afford
A peaceful nap in afternoons
As we ride away to our next destination
Once the green signal flashed

Re-incarnation of the Extinct

The world is incomplete without you
Countless beautiful animals and birds
We the humans made sure that
You never took birth again
In this helpless earth controlled by us
Our ancestors hunted you down
With the passion for hunting down trophies
To show how brave they were
Or just simply brought unknown enemies
From lands far away without warning
And they simply butchered you down
As if, their hunger never ceased
Some left this earth even before humans took birth
As generations passed by
Curiosity about a lost world of species
Learnt from the encyclopedias and various books
Made some researchers to excavate
To find the remnants of an old world
They found the bones of mammoths, dinosaurs
And countless species
They found countless dormant eggs
They found their ages with carbon dating
And all new techniques
They recreated their body with softwares
And real 3d models
They came up with countless assumptions
About the lifestyle
And the extinction of those species
Made documentaries and movies to show the old eras
To the young kids and to fascinate them
With genome codes, cloning coming to the fore
Along with the crazy minds trying to make artificial life
It won’t be a surprise
If someone crack the genome codes of those species
And then extracting DNA’s from eggs or bones
Or from any preserved bodies
And cloning them to give a re-incarnation
Like we saw in Jurassic park
Our zoos are obsolete with familiar animals
New animals from old era will usher it
Even then some another species will extinct
Well they can die in peace
With a hope that
Humans will re-incarnate them from the extinct
One day
