Shore

I am lost,
In the wilderness of thoughts.
I searched for a shore,
While swimming through,
the ocean of thoughts.
To settle down in a hideout,
To build the ship of a life time,
And then, to embark on a journey,
For conquering an ultimate horizon
I found a shore,
But it’s too far away!
The currents dragged me away,
My unrelenting efforts took me a bit farther,
Only to be lashed out further back.
Every setback augured me,
To fight back and not to give up.
Every forward movement,
Thundered an excitement inside my heart
Giving some energy to fight on,
In tandem with rising expectation.
Are my expectations too much?
I wondered!
But realistically where am I?
Neither drowning in the ocean,
Nor reaching the shore.
Floating like a wooden block,
With only tides as final source of hope.
However, tides are getting ruder now,
Resisting all my efforts to move forward
Shore is smiling,
Yet yelling,
It is screaming at me
You are an intruder,
Hence, you aren’t welcome!
The beautiful shore is enticing,
But, it’s harder for me
To reach anywhere near it.
I wish the wind cease to flow,
So that tides secedes from my path.
But what shall I do?
To convince the shore,
That I am not an intruder!
When there is no welcome,
The shore will be inhospitable,
To really weave the dreams,
Or, for strengthening my aims.
May be the ocean can do a favor for me!
It can submerse the shore,
To encroach the inlands,
Then I can reach that forbidden land
With the power of tides
Otherwise, it can get away
Leaving behind more area for the shore
Sparing me rooted to the ground
Then I can walk with ease towards my destiny
It’s harder for me to conceive the fact,
That shore is so near, yet so far.
It’s not a lost battle yet,
Time and tide will change,
I will somehow,
Make it to the shore, soon!

Be Selfish

Be selfish,
As no one understand your honesty.
You may be living in world of dreams,
With happiness and unhappiness,
Surrounded by friends and relatives,
You may be feeling so comfortable with that.

Just turn back and analyze,
What did you get, when it mattered?
Who among them came for your rescue,
when you were down with difficulty?
You will see the bleak picture!
You are alone when you are in trouble,

You love them all always,
Never want to hurt anyone,
Yet could hear some one saying,
 You cheated me!

You always had plans for others,
To give the best offers and benefits,
But, many don’t have the patience,
to reap the benefits.
Yet complains !

They listen to someone else’s jealous taunts,
Mislead,misguided and disoriented
They comes after you with poisonous words,
To hurt you for your honesty,
by targeting your fragile emotions .

They will realize the mistake someday.

But, you change yourself ,
Be selfish,
Then you won’t be handling others issues!
Hence, there won’t be any hues from others.

Be selfish,
Get on with your life,
Sail it towards peaceand prosperity,
As sometimes you realize late,
That you didn’t reach anywhere,
After running after many things for others,
By then you will be alone,
Healing the wounds of regrets and despair!

Be selfish,
Those who touched the sky,
They did it with selfish dedication.
You are the only reliable support,
For yourself at any time.
You save yourself, before saving others!

There are some people who forget their lives by living for others. But they end up struggling with out any support in return. There are some-others, who get all the wrath despite doing everything possible for others.

Another Mom

As a kid, I was lucky
Being loved by people around
In my neighborhood
There was an aunty,
Younger than my mom was then
She and her husband was fond of me
As they didn’t had kids, then
She showered love on me
That could envy any mom
She looked after me like her own kid
Took me to her home, when she had time
Or I visited her when I missed her
Everyday, she used to feed me the lunch
With my favorite fried eggs of fish
I liked being with her
Since she cared me a lot
One day I called her “mom”
As I couldn’t differentiate her love
From my own mom
She was happy at that moment
Months later, she moved on afar
When she finally had her own child
She named him after me
May be in my memory
When I visited her once, years later
She was so happy
And I felt the same warmth in her eyes
Despite we didn’t meet for long
I haven’t seen her, ever since
But I feel, I have another mom in her
Some relations are unique
Rising from the bottom of hearth
With more depth than bloodily relations

This is about a lady who loved me like her own son.

Love to friendship

Hardest thing in this world is
To be the friend of your love
When you know he is
 Someone else's life

It’s hard to control emotions
As Old Memories and dreams
Flocks the heart, giving
A sense of great loss

Every time when you see him
Heart craves for getting closer
Like the olden days
With nostalgic eyes

He conquered your untamed heart
Made you his beautiful princess
Filled dreams in you
About life together

Still you are there in his heart
He wanna care you like before
 But from a distance
As a loving friend

This poem is written for a friend, some what in tandem with her tune.

Slaughtered Hand

A mistake
Intentional or unintentional
Brought the wrath from all directions
Mobs burned his effigies
Mobs demanded his blood
Some waited for law to take its course
But a few couldn’t wait
They executed their own law
By slaughtering a hand
That wrote things they didn’t like
Though everyone has right to express
Their thoughts and opinions
From nowhere he became famous
His words made him the enemy
Of chauvinists who talks about god
But god never assigned anyone
To execute anyone
For talking against the will of god
The palm less hand strikes the eye
As the symbol of hatred
Spread by heartless
Religiously blinded chauvinists
The enemy of humanity

This is about a person whose hand was butchered by some anti-social miscreants for expressing radical opinions.

Strength Within

Strength isn’t the ability of someone to thrash things
It isn’t the trait of a man who can slam down opponents
It isn’t the cavalry of an arrogant dictator with weapons
It isn’t a toy that can be bought in a mall with a credit card
Strength is the cloud of emotions that can keep one alive
When all the tough situations drag one towards a trench
When the whole world is against you and you are cornered
You never look for a weapon or hideout
You look for strength within the soul at that time
I saw the strength through the words of a girl
Who laughed and fought with me, during her last days
After knowing that she won’t survive after four months
When she came to say goodbye to all the friends
I saw the strength within her to face the worst
Just two days before she died
I saw strength within in the eyes of my dad before he died
As he strived to catch one more breathe to survive
I saw the strength within myself when I signed the document
That proclaimed his death, without shedding any tears
I found strength within when I tried to console my Mum
As she eagerly asked about his survival
I had to reveal the truth cold-hearted
I felt the strength within in the trembling voice of a girl
Who was within moments away from leaving this world
To get back to the life and win over the tough battle
There is no need for riches or advice if one can discover
The strength within the heart, to fight back in life
From any adversities that pop up from time to time

This post is written for Bridget Chumbley's blog carnival, on the topic of strength.

Isla Amor

Isla Amor
A small island of curse
In the Brazilian seaway
Surrounded by white beach
Lush green with bushes and coconut trees
Bought for romantic honeymoon
Turned out to be the last straw
In a relation
Now one of the cheapest islands
Something painful for owner
Trying to forget at the best
About a lost wedding diamond ring
A ruined honeymoon
Mysterious downfall of a doggie
A failed attempt to cheer
The Heartbroken wife
Horrible hours of dehydrations
A long wait for help from mainland
Bed ridden days in clinic
And a tragic divorce aftermath
May be it’s a lucky land
That measured the depth of love
That didn’t existed as he expected
He showered his wealth to make her happy
But she couldn’t bear a tough day
Neither his riches was able stop her from leaving
Nor his painful tears of love
Isla Amor, teaches the lesson
True love stands by at all tough times
Glittering feelings vanishes in moments forever
He may call it as Isla Cadella
Instead of Isla Amor
But it’s his lucky charm that freed him
Towards a world of true love,
That he will discover one day

This poem is totally inspired by an ad of an island for sale. For more details check out Isla Amor
