A Town Center From A Dream

I saw an unnamed small town center

In my dream, from where I didn't want to return

The roads were having freshly laid bitumen

The old iron lamps had a fresh black coat

The medians had lush nicely cut grass

The footpaths were having nice stone tiles

The buildings were all red with white outlining

The small park had plenty of flowering plants

A few old wooden benches for the visitors

A brick trail for the walkers and runners

A lush green lawn for those picnickers

And a space for a traditional game

The town had only a wholesale market

A huge arched building with a big hall

There were big stalls for various items

Vegetables were auctioned off daily

If the buyer damages the vegetables

The person has to take them home

But he will be banned from auction for a period

The town had only a second-hand book shop

The books were stacked up like towers

The best books were kept in cabinets

There was a bargaining system for the books

After reading, people can resell it to the shop

The townhall was small and resembled a theatre

It doubled up as the church, due to renovation

There was a small police outpost in the town center

The crime rates were low and people were police friendly

There was a small hospital in the town with essential facilities

People rather took prescriptions from private doctors

To buy medicines from the local pharmacies

There was a women's shopping center

Ran by women for all the needs of women

I explored the streets while the bus was getting ready

They were neat and tidy and people kept flowering plants

No walls were separating the houses

Many of them had fruit-bearing trees in the front

I saw fewer cars on the streets and at homes

I had to run to fetch the bus to go to my home somewhere

Once Upon A Dream

Once upon a dream
I saw a pretty girl in my life
Unseen before and unknown
But she wandered into my house
Like my best friend for years
And a neighbour for decades
She had shared so many things
Like I am her secret keeper
She watered the plants inside my house
Whispering something to them with a smile
She went outside to buy something
After telling me to wait for her to return
Was she the friend I craved in my childhood?
To play, with me instead of my imaginary friends
Or was she the reflection of my best friend's friend?
Who used to pick up my calls when he was not around
I was curious about her, but I'd never seen her face
I wonder if my mind created imagery of her from the voice!
I woke up in the morning with questions about the strange girl
But I couldn't recollect her face again in my mind, though I tried
My friend, an artist, listened to the impressions I had about her
She made a sketch of this girl with an angelic face
She termed this dreamy girl, the angel of my life
I looked for girls with the face as in the sketch
My girlfriends didn't have that face
I've lost that sketch along the way
But that angelic face is still in mind
I wonder if that dream was a hint
About someone, I will meet in future
I'm still waiting for that
Girl to show up somewhere
Someday!

Strangers

Someday, we will meet,
When we couldn't afford to,
Somewhere midst chaos.
We never met,

When we could have,
We had plenty of time
To explore sands and hills
Together, in search of freedom
Destiny or fate, We didn't
Our dreams withered away
In the drought of our silence,
While we weaved them in winter,
With a hope to splash in monsoon
Now the spring bloom hollow smiles
Mocking at your portrait of memoir
You will walk past me, like a stranger
With a silence that ill fits a radio
With a smile, hidden somewhere
Saying hello to an old buddy
That's all left in between us

Dreaming to dream

I am day dreaming to dream
In this lazy afternoon
As I am getting bored
Waiting for the rain
It’s teasing me,
But hiding somewhere

Take me to Dubai’s islands
I wish to sail in those canals
To see the marvels
Weaved on the laps of sand

Take me to "Theatre of Dreams"
I wish to sit at the Stretford end
Let me sing, “Glory glory man united”
While watching red-devils play liverpool

I’m getting deluded
I wish to travel in magnetic roads
I’m fed up with the gutters here
I want to ride rotor-less bikes
It will be sliding over magnetic fields
Like good old, Santa Claus’s deer sledge

I am sleepy
But where is my lullaby
Angels please take me to your heaven of dreams
I wish to hear you sing
“Baby sleep like an innocent cat”,

Dream Road

I dreamed about a road
Carved through the chest of a hill
Connecting an isolated neighborhood
To the bridge across a small river
I dreamed about colorful buses
Running through that steep road
To the courtyard of the church atop the hill
While walking through that small path
In which hardly a person can walk
Now vehicles ply over a road
Just as I dreamed as a child
There are no taxes to dream
If it comes true, it isn’t a miracle
It’s destiny!

Soul in rain

It rained like the drizzle of souls
It reminded me of a beautiful soul
She loves the rain crazily just as me

She is beyond the miles I could cover
She is beyond the reach of my hopes
She is beyond the grasp of my dreams
She is beyond the realms of my prayers

But, as I closed my eyes, I saw her enjoying rain
By letting the blessed rain to baptize her lost soul
Embracing the healing nectar from the heaven
She flapped her hands like wings of a dove
To feel the freedom she craved all her life
She encircled the rain like a dazzling top
Splashing the droplets allover tangentially

Her artistic feets created a swirl on rainy floor
Then she stood still to take a deep breath of sigh
She closed her hopeful eyes to make a dearest wish
She folded her hands at once like twin bowls of wishes
She collected the sweet droplets of rainy desires
To fill her heart with fresh desires for the future
As she wished to erase her broken dreams

When she opened her eyes, she saw me
Her eyes sprinkled the rays of joyous smile
I leaned forward to catch her shivering hand
For a walk through the deserted street in rain
But, to my surprise, she gingerly ran past me
With a shy smile, challenging me to catch her
But I stood frozen watching her crazy antics
Dancing like a little girl forgetting everything

I wished to freeze the mood in her heart forever
So that she don’t have to shed her tears and hide it
While drenching in a chilly rain, defying the lightening
The glimpse of her curves tangled in drenched drapes
Left my lustful eyes mesmerized in the glory
Of being a twin soul to a honest girl
As she doesn’t veil her heart
When she is with me
As she loved being herself
In my company through the years

She shrugged me off from my naughty thoughts
While holding my hand and asking for a walk
Yet she didn’t miss out on mocking me
With her unique black humor

We shared some lighter moments in that rain
We breached the barriers of silent sorrow
With the warmth of our hopes of a life together
Noise from somewhere vanished my daydream abruptly
And I opened my eyes to traverse my lonely journey as usual
